We are a non-profit corporation in the State of Washington dedicated to the furtherance of education within our community. We are essentially focused on students and schools of the small communities of Steilacoom and DuPont, located in Pierce County, Washington, south of the major cities of Tacoma and Seattle. SHEF provides scholarships for students graduating through Steilacoom High School. SHEF provides grants to Steilacoom Schools to enhance teaching and learning in the district. The purpose and primary objective of the foundation is to create and found a charitable, educational, not-for-profit foundation for the sole benefit of the Steilacoom Historical School District #1; to assist, strengthen, and further in every proper and useful way the purposes, work, and services of the District, and to develop, enhance and utilize all available ties of interest, concern, and affections for scholarship and student aid purposes.
